Bob Jones

Bob Jones is one of the Kansas City Prophets.  Seen by some as the most controversial of the Kansas City Prophets.  Was removed from the Vineyard Anaheim because of sexual improprieties, which consisted of encouraging women to undress in his office so they could stand "naked before the Lord" in order to receive a "word."  Still active today, with the abundant support of Rick Joyner.  Jones is a major proponent of Latter Rain and Manifest Sons theology, (Apologetics Index, Bob Jones).
Hear the warning from Jonathan Edwards from the danger of going outside of God's complete and revealed word:
"That it is God's manner in these days, to guide his saints, at least some that are more eminent, by inspiration, or by immediate revelation.  They suppose he makes known to them what shall come to pass hereafter, or what it is his will that they should do, by impressions made upon their minds, either with or without texts of Scripture: whereby something is made known to them that is not taught in the Scripture.  By such a notion the devil has a great door opened for him, and if once this opinion should come to be fully yielded to, and established in the church of God, Satan would have an opportunity thereby to set himself as the guide and oracle of God's people..." Thoughts on the Revival, Works IV page 404.
George Whitefield has this to say about seeking signs and experiences:
"I think it is tempting God to require such signs...I think it will encourage the French Prophets, take people from the written word, and make them depend on visions, convulsions, etc., more than the promises and precepts of the gospel," PFO Quarterly Journal, July-September 2002, page 1.

Bob Jones:

"He [Bob Jones] says the new breed will not only have "permission to remit people's sins," but they will also have "permission to remit that which sin has caused in their life, like herpes and AIDS.Jones says that the anointing of the endtime prophets and apostles will be ten times the anointing of Moses.

"I believe I have a word from the Lord concerning children that would involve totally hundreds of children that would come from the loins of this fellowship ...This seed will bring forth the testimony of Jesus Christ and the glorious church. These are the delivers of the end time army ...These are the children of promise you're looking upon ...These are them the prophets have waited for many thousands of years to come forth ...These are the ones he foreknew and predestined to come forth and to be the last delivers of the last age ... He has waited over six thousand years for these to grow up."
(Bob Jones, Visions and Revelations, Weighed And Found Wanting, by Pastor Bill Randles, Appendix A)

"I was over there with Jim a while ago. My hands turned blue, and then they turned purple. And when that happens, that means you've got some incense that's gone up. You've got some intercession that's gone up that Papa's saying yes to. There's some prayers that's gone on here that the answer is yes ...When you've got this kind of anointing, some of you are already entering that secret place of the Most High. You're already bowing down to that altar of incense. Your tears are falling on those coals and they're coming before Papa. Papa's saying, "Come with more. Believe for more." Because when my hands turn purple, it means you're getting through to royalty; you're getting through to the top. It's yea and amen; and that's what He's calling you into: that holy place of divine heath. The Holy of Holies which your children are called to enter in can crash that threshold. It's called the place of divine health ...That's what the children are entering into: they'll have the Spirit without measure, they'll walk through walls; they'll be translated, everything that was ever in scripture."
(From "Visions and Revelations," Weighed And Found Wanting, by Pastor Bill Randles, Appendix A, 1989.)

"I have called the best of every blood line in earth unto this generation... I have elected to bring them forth in this generation... the elect generation... even the bloodline of Paul... of David... of Peter, James and John... They will even be superior to them in heart, stature and love for me'...Your children will possess the spirit without measure... They will move into things of the supernatural that no one has ever moved in before... coming into the divine nature of Jesus Christ... a Church that has reached the full maturity of the Godman! This generation... is going to see the beginning of this world wide new order."
(Bob Jones, Vineyard Prophecy Conference, 1989, as cited in "The New Order," Jewel van der Merwe, p.7.)

God told me that: "If I release the 100% Rhema right now, the accountability would be awesome, and you'd have so much 'Ananias and Sapphira' going on that the people wouldn't grow, they'd be too scared."  But He said, "If it was 'on target' it would kill instead of scaring the people to repentance...This is what He told me, so I figure if I hit two-thirds of it, I'm doing pretty good."
(Dr. John MacArthur, "Charasmatic Chaos," page 79.  Bob Jones, "The Shepards Rod," October 1989)

Bob Jones on the Shepherd's Rod

So when he [the prophet] went under that shepherd rod, we saw more people leave here than we saw anointed. They were rejected from leadership cause they had flaws in them. See, that which is going to be holy unto the Lord must not have any flaws in it...it's all in scripture. When you go under it, he just turns you upside down and He looks every place on your body. And if you be found all right, He marks you to be a living, holy, sacrifice unto Him. One out of 10's marked totally unto the Lord. That's a shepherd's rod...He evaluates everyone that knows the Lord Jesus Christ as saviour...When I went under at this time, He said, There's a couple of things that's still wrong in you, there's going to be a seven month delay in your anointing." We all have a problem when Mike [Bickle] seeks to conjure up divine approval for his "movement" with stories of supernatural confirmations that are blatantly false. For example, Mike regularly retells the story of how the so-called "prophet" Bob Jones predicted [in May, 1983] a three month drought which would finally end with a "drought breaker" on August 23. In telling this tale, Mike makes such statements as, "we watched it day by day...June, no rain...then on August 23, three to four inches of rain!" It sounded like a pretty impressive miracle until we checked it with the National Weather Bureau and the daily newspaper accounts for that time frame. We found the following:

Actual readings from the former Richard Gebaur Air Force Base, which is only a few minutes from KCF show over seven inches of rain in June, which is well over normal!

The "drought breaker" on August 23, actually produced less than one third of an inch.

Of the 12 days it rained in June, six of them produced records of rains heavier than the "drought breaker." One day alone had over seven times the rainfall of August 23_2.35 inches. (From What's the Problem, Ernie Gruen.)

I saw intercession on a scale like I've never seen it before. I saw men crying, I saw the leadership of this entire body, one big body, all of us all over town; we came together as one big body. Men were weeping and there were prayer meetings ... and because of what they were crying for, these things began to happen. We had the power to forgive sins, remitted. We had the power to proclaim liberty to those that are bound and to remove the bondage of sin." (From "The Shepherd's Rod" Taped interview with Mike Bickle, Weighed And Found Wanting, by Pastor Bill Randles, Appendix A, 1989)

"A short time ago, I received a phone call from a friend and a wonderful prophetic seer, Bob Jones.  In our conversation, Bob told me about a night vision in which he wrestled a demon that resembled a well known Christian leader.  The Lord told Bob it was a demon, and not the leaderHe also told Bob the demon was from the highest (fifth) level in the demonic realm. Its mission was to appear in people's dreams in order to discredit godly leaders and ministries.  Masquerading as a Christian leader, this demon would do and say horrific things to frighten people from supporting the leader's ministry.
After wrestling most of the night with this demon, Bob was finally able to grab a nearby monkey wrench and hit the demon in the head.  His action was symbolic of throwing a wrench into, or disrupting, the enemy's plans. The demon was knocked to his knees, but he got up, ran away, and shouted that he would be back.
When Bob shared this with me, he exhorted me to expose and teach about this demon's activities.  He encouraged me to rally intercessors, asking them to pray that God would send angels ahead of His leaders in order to block Satan's demonic schemes from occurring.  In the last days, we must see that God's Kingdom continues to advance."

"Another time, when I was on a 40-day fast, Bob Jones came over to the house where I was staying.  As we sat in the living room, a light came out of the fireplace and whizzed by my headWhen I ducked, Bob whispered, "you saw it, too?"   "Yeah, it nearly hit me in the face," I replied.  With amazement Bob said, "The wind of heaven is here.  I've never seen this before, but I heard about it.  For about 20 minutes, the ball of light flew around the room, whirled around our feet, flew in and out of walls, into the kitchen and back into the living room.  As we talked about Jesus, the faster it whizzed around the room.  Bob got up and closed all the curtains.  Yet, the more we talked and laughed about God, the more the light danced around us.  Then as quickly as it appeared, it left suddenly flying out the fireplace."

Note: "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him......For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of ChristAnd no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 11-13

"Flying in the spirit is an another phenomenon that occurs in the supernatural arena.  I've been transported three timesOnce Bob Jones, his wife and I were transported in time.  Having ministered in Birmingham, Alabama, we needed to take a 6:00 a.m. flight the following day to Macon, Georgia.  At our hotel that night, we were told it would take 20 minutes to get to the airport.  After staying up late ministering to a pastor and his staff, we were exhausted.  So, we requested a wake up call from the hotel staff, but neither of us got one.  Bob said that an angel shook him awake; knocking excitedly on my door, he yelled: "John Paul, it's 5:55 a.m.  Hurry and get ready or we'll be late."
Stumbling out of bed after 3 hours of sleep I replied, "Bob, there's no way we're going to make it.  It takes 20 minutes to get to the airport."
"Maybe God will delay the plane," said Bob optimistically.  "We've got to try because it's a long drive to Macon."
So, I jumped out of bed, pulled on some clothes, threw the clothes into my garment bag, ran out the door, and threw my bag in the back of Bob's pick-up truck, which he had driven to Birmingham.
When we got to the Birmingham Airport, two men were waiting outside the terminal, waving their arms for us to stop.  Bob pulled up and they said, "this is where you need to get out.  Run to the gate.  We'll make sure your bags get on the plane."
As we ran to the gate, I glanced at the clock on the wall.  It was 5:59 a.m. Puzzled, I wondered if our clocks in the hotel were wrong.  As we boarded the plane, found our seats and bucked up, I looked at my wristwatch. It read 6:00 a.m.  I knew my watch had the correct time, so I wondered if Bob's watch was wrong.  I pulled up his shirtsleeve and looked at his watch.  It also read 6:00 a.m.  "Bob, do you realize we made it here in two minutes," I asked astounded.  "Yes," he said hesitantly, "but I wasn't going to say anything." "When did you call those guys to take care of our bags and your truck," I asked perplexed.   "I didn't call those guys," he replied.  "I thought you did."
"I've never seen them before," I said emphatically.  As the light begins to dawn, I said, "Bob, either those were angels or you're missing a red pickup truck.  I guess we'll know when we get to Macon and see if our bags got on the plane."
When we reached Macon, miraculously our bags were the first to come off the luggage belt.  After ministering in Macon, we flew back to Birmingham. Our hearts were pounding as we left the terminal and headed towards the parking lot.  Bob's red pickup truck was parked in the very first parking space, with the keys tucked above the visor on the driver's side!"
