John Paul Jackson
On August 20, 2004 I turned to Daystar and during their Celebration broadcast Marcus Lamb was speaking with his guest John Paul Jackson about dreams and their interpretation.
What I saw was shocking, unbiblical, and nothing short of New Age methods for dream interpretation. John Paul Jackson posited that Christians can learn God's will and direction for our life by our dreams and their interpretation.
What happened to finding God's will from the Bible? Does not the Holy Spirit Himself tell us that the Bible is sufficient for us? What has God told us about the sufficiency of Scripture?
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works," 2 Timothy 3:16.
Hear the warning from Jonathan Edwards from the danger of going outside of God's complete and revealed word:
"That it is God's manner in these days, to guide his saints, at least some that are more eminent, by inspiration, or by immediate revelation. They suppose he makes known to them what shall come to pass hereafter, or what it is his will that they should do, by impressions made upon their minds, either with or without texts of Scripture: whereby something is made known to them that is not taught in the Scripture. By such a notion the devil has a great door opened for him, and if once this opinion should come to be fully yielded to, and established in the church of God, Satan would have an opportunity thereby to set himself as the guide and oracle of God's people..." Thoughts on the Revival, Works IV page 404.
George Whitefield has this to say about seeking signs and experiences:
"I think it is tempting God to require such signs...I think it will encourage the French Prophets, take people from the written word, and make them depend on visions, convulsions, etc., more than the promises and precepts of the gospel," PFO Quarterly Journal, July-September 2002, page 1.

QUESTION: Does Satan use a consistent pattern or temptation to destroy revelatory gifted people?
JOHN PAUL: Any ministry can fall prey to any sin, but prophetic people seem to be especially prone to sexual sin. Perhaps one reason is because of the heightened sensitivity that comes with the prophetic gift..."
(John Paul Jackson, "A Question For John Paul Jackson")
"When surveying the landscape of the prophetic movement today, often humility, holiness, and spiritual maturity are lacking in those who claim to be voices for God. Sadly, pride, presumption, and a lack of spiritual maturity are far more visible in their lives."
(John Paul Jackson, "Dangers of Riding the Title Wave")
"God delights in revealing Himself to those who love His appearing and to those who watch for His coming. One of the marvelous mysteries of God is the existence of portals -- doors and passageways -- leading to and from the heavenly realms. When you are standing in a portal, it feels like an open Heaven.
A heavenly portal is a spherical opening of light that offers divine protection by which angels and heavenly beings can come and go, without demonic interference. God has designed portals to begin in the third Heaven, travel through the second Heaven, and open upon Earth."
(John Paul Jackson, "Heavenly Portals")
"Have you ever wondered why the Lord, who could speak to you anywhere, would instruct you to go somewhere else, so that He could talk with you?
While God was talking to Elijah, He instructed the prophet to go to Mount Horeb, also known as Mount Sinai, where the Lord would talk to him further (1 Kings 19:11-18).
Divine portals into the heavenly realm exist around the Earth today. The city of Jerusalem is a portal. In fact, it is the major portal on the face of the Earth. That's why both David and Isaiah said that Jerusalem is the center of the earth. Why do you suppose the enemy is trying to capture Jerusalem? To block or close-off this portal."
(John Paul Jackson, "Heavenly Portals")
"In Moravian Falls, North Carolina, Rick Joyner has shared that he and his staff have had numerous angelic visitations on their property that was once owned by Count von Zinzendorf and the Moravian community of faith. Several portals exist on this land which had been prayed over by the Moravian brethren for over 100 years."
(John Paul Jackson, "Heavenly Portals")
"In Sutton, New Hampshire, a portal exists on the 90-acres that were given to Streams Ministries. Obviously the enemy knows this, because he has been blocking the use of this portal and providing access only to the second Heaven. Every time I climb to the top of the land, which the locals refer to as "the Pinnacle," I have torn down demonic altars erected by witches who trespass on the property and defile places where God had once revealed Himself. But God is calling us to take back these high places, so that His angels can come and go without hindrance.
Sadly, while many in the New Age movement recognize the existence of portals, the portals they recognize are those of the second Heaven. Many erroneously think they are hearing from God when actually they are being deceived by the counterfeit."
(John Paul Jackson, "Heavenly Portals")
Note: Maybe John Paul Jackson is being deceived by demons as he goes outside of God's unchanging Word for guidance and trusts in subjective experiences.
"This coming flow of God's Spirit will be felt in such fullness of power that it will unleash a massive, worldwide revival. Believers will be anointed and empowered to perform even greater works than those Jesus did -- healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead, and proclaiming the Kingdom of God has come to Earth (John 14:12). In the coming day, the Lord will begin to show many of you where portals exist in your community, so that you will be able to receive even greater spiritual insight and revelation from God."

"Of all these experiences that I've shared with you, the most amazing to me happened on May 12, 1993 at 1:15 a.m. My life was forever changed. Having been awakened from my sleep by the sound of a harp, I was instantaneously transported to the throne room of God. Before me was a blinding pillar of lightrefracting and reflecting beams of light and was slowly rotating. Lightning flashed from His presence and around Him were seven rings of light, moving in total harmony. The dazzling brightness of the image was what John described in Revelation 4 as the appearance of green jasper and fiery red sardius stones; encircling Him were the colors of the rainbow. With each flash of lightning and ball of light, thunder rumbled and echoed throughout the heavens...While my experiences may seem extraordinary to you, days are unfolding when signs and wonders will increase in the Body of Christ and the world will see the greatest move of God since the birth of the church at Pentecost. What seems extraordinary today, will seem more natural tomorrow. Therefore, begin to expect the supernatural. You'll be surprised at what awaits you! "

"In March 1997, while speaking at a prophetic conference in Southampton, England, I was giving an afternoon workshop about the supernaturalness of God. As I began to discuss the concept of lights and how God is the Father of lights (James 1:17), more than two dozen lights appeared and began flying through the room. These lights varied in sizes and colorssome were solid blue, others solid white or multicolored. Some were oblong balls of light, and others were rectangular bars of light 20 to 30 feet long and 6 inches wide. For about 30 minutes, these colorful lights flew around the roomfrom front to back, side to side and ceiling to floor. The more I talked about the Lord, the faster they flew around the room and were joined by even more lights.
Remarkably, more than 400 people saw the lights. They began to gasp and point at the lights, squealing and clapping with delight. Some people fell out of their chairs and rolled around the floor laughing. Others were stunned in disbelief or quietly crying. In fact, there was so much commotion in the room that people from other workshops came to investigate. Their eyes were "opened" to the phenomenon. The lights reappeared the following morning during my talk to the general assembly. More than 800 people witnessed the phenomenon. During these meetings, a few people were instantly healed without anyone praying for them. Over the years, I've discovered that whenever lights are present, miraculous power accompanies them.
What are these lights? Some believe they are angels. I believe they are what Scripture refers to as heavenly hoststhings of God that are unexplainable. On several occasions I have seen different light shapesfrom the appearance of snowflakes and coats of arms, to 7 or 8-foot pillars of lights. I've also seen small lights that vanish upon being observed. And others that shoot across a room like a comet. These lights of God are real and are given as a sign and a wonder of God's awesome power. After all, God is light. He's not human. And He is the Father of lights."

"Flying in the spirit is an another phenomenon that occurs in the supernatural arena. I've been transported three times. Once Bob Jones, his wife and I were transported in time. Having ministered in Birmingham, Alabama, we needed to take a 6:00 a.m. flight the following day to Macon, Georgia. At our hotel that night, we were told it would take 20 minutes to get to the airport. After staying up late ministering to a pastor and his staff, we were exhausted. So, we requested a wake up call from the hotel staff, but neither of us got one. Bob said that an angel shook him awake; knocking excitedly on my door, he yelled: "John Paul, it's 5:55 a.m. Hurry and get ready or we'll be late."
Stumbling out of bed after 3 hours of sleep I replied, "Bob, there's no way we're going to make it. It takes 20 minutes to get to the airport."
"Maybe God will delay the plane," said Bob optimistically. "We've got to try because it's a long drive to Macon."
So, I jumped out of bed, pulled on some clothes, threw the clothes into my garment bag, ran out the door, and threw my bag in the back of Bob's pick-up truck, which he had driven to Birmingham.
When we got to the Birmingham Airport, two men were waiting outside the terminal, waving their arms for us to stop. Bob pulled up and they said, "this is where you need to get out. Run to the gate. We'll make sure your bags get on the plane."
As we ran to the gate, I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was 5:59 a.m. Puzzled, I wondered if our clocks in the hotel were wrong. As we boarded the plane, found our seats and bucked up, I looked at my wristwatch. It read 6:00 a.m. I knew my watch had the correct time, so I wondered if Bob's watch was wrong. I pulled up his shirtsleeve and looked at his watch. It also read 6:00 a.m. "Bob, do you realize we made it here in two minutes," I asked astounded. "Yes," he said hesitantly, "but I wasn't going to say anything." "When did you call those guys to take care of our bags and your truck," I asked perplexed. "I didn't call those guys," he replied. "I thought you did."
"I've never seen them before," I said emphatically. As the light begins to dawn, I said, "Bob, either those were angels or you're missing a red pickup truck. I guess we'll know when we get to Macon and see if our bags got on the plane."
When we reached Macon, miraculously our bags were the first to come off the luggage belt. After ministering in Macon, we flew back to Birmingham. Our hearts were pounding as we left the terminal and headed towards the parking lot. Bob's red pickup truck was parked in the very first parking space, with the keys tucked above the visor on the driver's side!"

"Another time, when I was on a 40-day fast, Bob Jones came over to the house where I was staying. As we sat in the living room, a light came out of the fireplace and whizzed by my head. When I ducked, Bob whispered, "you saw it, too?" "Yeah, it nearly hit me in the face," I replied. With amazement Bob said, "The wind of heaven is here. I've never seen this before, but I heard about it. For about 20 minutes, the ball of light flew around the room, whirled around our feet, flew in and out of walls, into the kitchen and back into the living room. As we talked about Jesus, the faster it whizzed around the room. Bob got up and closed all the curtains. Yet, the more we talked and laughed about God, the more the light danced around us. Then as quickly as it appeared, it left suddenly flying out the fireplace."

"As remarkable as that was, God also transported someone to pray for me. In 1990, I was on a 21-day ministry trip through Europe but after speaking in Geneva, Switzerland, I doubled over in pain from what doctors later told me was pancreatitis. Lying on my bed in excruciating pain that night, I told God that if He didn't heal me, I would cancel the rest of my trip and check into a hospital.
Around 2:30 a.m., I sensed someone standing beside my bed. To my right was an elderly man with weathered skin and thick, knotted fingers. First, I thought I was hallucinating; then I thought it was an angel. As the old man reached out his hand towards me, he said, "I have come to pray for you." Placing his hand on top of mine, which rested on my stomach, he began to pray. I felt heat leave his hands and enter into mine. It felt thick like honey and was glowing hot. Heat unrolled like a scrolldown my legs and out my feet and up my abdomen and out my head. As it steadily unrolled, the searing pain left my body. Then, we looked at each other and he disappeared before my eyes.
I jumped out of bed and began dancing around the room, thanking God for healing me and sending His angel. That's when He said it wasn't an angel. Nor was it the devil. A vision appeared to me of a man with outstretched hands and tears running down his face telling God, "I just want to be used by you, but I'm an old man in a small village. People think I'm crazy. Can You use me?" And God said to me, "I took him from an obscure village in Mexico, used him and sent him back."

"A few years ago, the Lord allowed me to "see" into the life of a young lady as she was moving from one apartment to another. I not only saw what was going on in the natural realm, but I was able to "see" what was going on in the spiritual realm where I saw both the hordes of hell and the heavenly hosts. For several hours one day, I watched God's angels and Satan's demons interacting in this woman's life. The Lord opened my eyes to "see" the Holy Spirit leading and guiding this young woman, placing thoughts and feelings into her heart and in her mind, although she was totally unaware of His presence.
In this vision, the young woman made a decision to sign an apartment contract and began moving into a new apartment. As she turned the doorknob and walked inside, I heard screams of fear from demons because light was entering the darkness....
Entering the store, the young woman grabbed a shopping cart and began walking down the aisles, oblivious to the angels who were walking beside her. They were directing her shopping cart down the aisles in a haphazard pattern. However, the young woman felt "lost" in the store. She couldn't seem to find the things she needed and began to feel disoriented. Suddenly, an angel whispered to her, "Here we go. Keep on walking." Blinded to the reality of an alternative spiritual universe, the young woman had just walked past demons who were sitting on shelves screaming out in fear and panic because they were overcome by the light....
The angels were eager to steer the young woman over to a different cashier whom they had been preparing for a "God encounter." On that day, the young woman was the fourth Christian who came through this cashier's line -- the fourth time God's light had hit her that day. What the young woman didn't realize was that five more times, and the cashier would become a Christian. By then, the cashier would have encountered the light of God so that she would be able to realize her need to change."
(John Paul Jackson, "Walking as Children of Light")
"Early this past spring, the Lord spoke to me and said, "The pecking order in the Church is about to topple. I am going to start promoting unknowns to the fourth row." I shared this with my staff at Streams and have been praying through the implications. I am now convinced it is time to release this word."
(John Paul Jackson, "The Church's Pecking Order is About to Topple")
"To fully understand the gravity of this simple word that was spoken to me, you must understand the history of what the Lord was referring to about
promoting leaders to the fourth row. Reference to the fourth row came from
an earlier encounter I had several years ago with a heavenly messenger who
took me to the third Heaven and told me about a great move of God that was
coming to the Earth. In this encounter, an angel awoke me and took me by the arm to Heaven through an opening in the sky."
(John Paul Jackson, "The Church's Pecking Order is About to Topple")
"Supernatural power and miracles will return to the Church. It will not be
limited to one man, to one church, or to one geographic area. God will
scatter His manifestations of miraculous power over many cities and nations."
(John Paul Jackson, "The Church's Pecking Order is About to Topple")
"In this encounter, I understood that each row represented the established pecking order in the church, and that one day there would be a sudden and great change. The angel told me that one day the Lord would suddenly catapult the leaders on the first two rows over those on the third row who Œlorded¹ their ministries over them. These unknown leaders would then stand on the fourth row, where no one had stood since the Early Church."
(John Paul Jackson, "The Church's Pecking Order is About to Topple")
"The Lord also reminded me of a message several years ago that He sent to me through a heavenly messenger: "God desires to pour forth His power in a way never before demonstrated, yet there has not been a vessel which could contain that power without becoming prideful. God is searching for a way to pour forth His signs and wonders, yet no people, church, or even gifting, has been able to stay uncontaminated."
(John Paul Jackson, "Navigating the Narrow Path")
Note: "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him......For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 11-13
