MARKUS BISHOP

"You are a child of God. Your Heavenly Father longs to pour out on you, as His child, blessings that bring no sorrow with them. When you receive a bill in the mail, your first question should not be, "How am I going to pay it?" Your first question should be, "I wonder how my Heavenly Father is going to bring it to me this time?"
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"Sometimes I am asked, "If it's God's will for every believer to prosper, then why are so many dear Christian brothers and sisters still experiencing poverty and lack?"  They experience it because their souls have not been trained in this truth.  Their understanding of the Scriptures has not been renewed to include all the promises of God."
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"When you know it's God's will for you to be saved, you have faith to be saved.  When you know it's God's will for you to be healed, you can feed your spirit with promises of divine healing from God's Word and have faith to be healed.  Prosperity is just like any promise, any blessing or any other provision of your redemption in God through Christ Jesus."
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"Let yourself see financial prosperity for what it scripturally and actually is—a part of your redemption, which Jesus Christ died and paid for. You have to see prosperity in that light. Prosperity is not an option."
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"It's not something God just tolerates or allows you to have in His permissive will. Prosperity is one of the things the precious blood of Jesus was shed to purchase for you. Renew your mind to this truth. Prosperity was bought and paid for by Jesus Christ. It is the perfect will of God for your life.
As soon as you become convinced of that, divine prosperity will become more than a right. It will become a daily reality in your life. That's when you will begin praying with the aggressiveness necessary to actually transfer wealth out of the kingdom of darkness and into the hands of God's people in these last days. That's what the devil is fighting."
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"When you start talking about the prosperity of believers, you are talking about money being taken out of the devil's pocket. That money comes from his operation—his kingdom—and it's put over into the kingdom of God to help pay for the gospel being preached throughout the world. That makes him mad!"
(Markus Bishop, "Prosperity Is Not An Option," CFAITH Article)

"You know, God wants to get money into the hands of the body of Christ. The traditions of men and the religion of men have taught that poverty was a part of Christianity.  But the bible says that Jesus became that we, through His poverty, might be rich.  God wants us to be rich. And I know sometimes that's tough for a lot of people to grab hold of and, you know, there's no other, there is absolutely no other topic that can stir up more devils, that can violate more traditions and upturn more people's philosophies than when you start teaching about prosperity. But I want you to know something. God wants to prosper His people.  God wants His people blessed.
And it's not that we can squander it on our own lusts.  God wants us blessed so that we can be a blessing.  He wants us to have prosperity so we have the money to finance the gospel in these last days.  It takes money to put this television ministry on the air across the globe.  It takes money to reach people for Jesus Christ.
The whole reason there's so much persecution right now about prosperity is because the devil wants us to back off this message.  And when we turn a deaf ear to the world's persecution, then the devil comes over here and tries to attack us with persecution from the religious sector. The modern-day Pharisees and Sadducees.  The modern-day scribes and watchdogs that think it's their place to be the accuser of the brethren and the judge of the body of Christ.  I'm going to tell you something; I don't care who comes against this message.  It is God's Word.  Let God be true and every man a liar..."
(Markus Bishop, Praise the Lord, September 24, 1998. Bob Hunter "Contenders")

"Financial prosperity is just as much a part of the Gospel as anything else.…All the time some secular news magazine is always wanting to do some expose on some rich preacher.  Let me tell you something right now. Let me just tell you from the heart of God, preachers are supposed to be rich, because God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants.  And the reason, I'll tell you why the preacher ought to be rich.  Because as goes the shepherd, so goes the sheep.  You're not ever going to have a congregation rise above the financial status of that local pastor."
(Markus Bishop, Praise the Lord Telethon, Nov. 2, 1998. Bob Hunter "Contenders")
